Brown, loose-textured growing medium

One of the secrets of successful rhododendron care is the right planting medium. Rhododendrons prefer acidic (pH 4.2-5.5), well-drained soil rich in organic matter.

When transplanting, moisten the medium and then plant the plant in a pot 2-5 cm larger than the original. When planting a shrub, prepare a 40-50 cm deep space for the plant so that stagnant water does not form around the roots. Place potting soil or clay granules on the bottom, then a layer of planting medium. Place the plant in it, then place the rhododendron potting soil around it, and fix it by watering. You can put pine bark on top of the soil, which will protect the plant from drying out. After 4-6 weeks, we recommend adding a nutrient solution appropriate for the plant type.

It doesn't matter what quality of potting soil you buy. Choose the tested quality!
