Cacti are undemanding plants, they can settle in harsh conditions and places with poor nutrient supply. It is true that they develop slowly in such conditions and only slowly take on the habit and appearance typical of their type. However, under well-maintained conditions, their development is fast and their growth takes a shorter time.
Most species require slightly acidic soil (5.5-6.5 pH).
When transplanting, hold the plant with gloves, lift it out of the pot, loosen the root system. Transplant the plant, then compact the soil. You can decorate the surface with pearl gravel or crushed stone (not calcareous). Only after 3-4 days, start watering lightly. Fertilize with special cactus food after 4-6 weeks. Avoid overwatering.
It doesn't matter what quality of potting soil you buy. Choose the tested quality!
